Nwe terrorist threat on Spain:
Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM, in English), the branch of Al Qaeda in North Africa, has just published a statement in radical Islamist fora announcing the creation of the Institute of Al Andalus Media Productions, a propaganda unit that will have the main objective of «restoring the Islamic land usurped» by Spain. The new institute, explains the terrorist organization in the report, will develop and publish Al Qaeda’s terrorist attacks, unifying the communication strategy of the group. AQIM thus emulates its head office, which has its own media unit, As Sahab, since 2001.
AQIM emerged in late 2006, resulting from the union of the former Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat (usually known by its French acronym GSPC,Groupe Salafiste pour la Prédication et le Combat) to Al Qaeda. The new branch sought to expand to North Africa the terrorist offensive that the GSPC had traditionally fought against the Algerian state, and pointed to Spain from the beginning among its priorities.
The importance that AQIM attaches to the recovery of the territories of Al Andalus, now Spain, is illustrated by the explicit mention in the name of its new media agency. «Why Al Andalus? Because it the Muslim lost paradise, a dominion of eight centuries, when Muslims established their religion and waved the banner of jihad, bringing God on earth”, as the statement of the terrorist organization explains. It continues: «The year 1492 saw its fall, when the Spanish crusaders occupied it due to the failure of the Muslims with regard to the duty of Jihad «.
«Jihad», recalls AQIM, «is an obligation for the Islamic nation since six centuries ago, when the fall of the principal city of Al Andalus happened. It is not since the occupation of Palestine by the Jews, or the occupation of Iraq, Afghanistan and Somalia by the Crusaders, but since the fall of Al Andalus. Jihad is an obligation since then (1492), when Granada fell. »
In the document, AQIM «reminds Muslims in general and the people of Morocco in particular, whose history closely linked to al-Andalus, the duty of jihad and how every Muslim should fight for God in order to restore each piece of usurped Islamic land.
The creation of the Institute will have an immediate effect on the terrorist threat hanging over Spain. Manuel R. Torres, professor of Universidad Pablo de Olavide, expert on Islamist terrorism and author of The echo of terror, a thorough study of Jihadist propaganda, says the announcement is «brings momentum to the communications strategy of AQIM, hitherto less developed than its logistics or operational capacity. «The new Institute, with the inclusion of Al Andalus in its name, shows to what extent Spain is a focal point for Jihadism; it will multiply the reference to Spanish targets. It is perfectly possible that Al Qaeda will start issuing videos instigating attacks against Spain”.
The statement also shows the logo (foto) of this new AQIM unit, which now serve as a certificate of all the communications of the terrorist group.

Al Qaeda del Magreb Islámico (AQIM, en inglés), la sucursal de Al Qaeda en el norte de África, acaba de publicar un comunicado en foros islamistas radicales anunciando la creación del Instituto de Producciones Mediáticas Al Andalus, un órgano de propaganda que nace con el principal objetivo de «restaurar la tierra islámica usurpada» en España. El nuevo Instituto, explica la organización terrorista en el comunicado al que ha tenido acceso lanacion.es, se encargará de elaborar y difundir las acciones terroristas de Al Qaeda, unificando la estrategia de comunicación del grupo. AQIM emula así a su matriz, que desde 2001 cuenta con su propio brazo mediático, As Sahab.
AQIM surgió a finales de 2006, fruto de la unión del antiguo Grupo Salafista para la Predicación y el Combate (GSPC) con Al Qaeda. La nueva sucursal aspiraba a extender al norte de África la ofensiva terrorista que tradicionalmente había librado el GSPC contra el Estado argelino, y situó a España desde el principio en sus objetivos prioritarios.
La importancia que AQIM concede a la recuperación de los territorios de Al Andalus, actual España, queda patente con la mención explícita en el nombre de su nuevo organismo mediático. «¿Por qué Al Andalus? Porque es el paraíso musulmán perdido, un reino de ocho siglos, cuando los musulmanes establecieron la religión y portaron la bandera de la yihad, permitiendo la llegada de Dios a la tierra», explica en el comunicado la organización terrorista. Y prosigue: «El año 1492 se produjo la caída, cuando los cruzados españoles la ocuparon debido al fracaso de los musulmanes con respecto a la yihad».
«La yihad», recuerda AQIM, «es una obligación para la nación islámica desde hace seis siglos,desde que se produjo la caída de la primera ciudad de Al Andalus. No lo es desde la ocupación de Palestina por los judíos, o la ocupación de Irak, Afganistán y Somalia por los cruzados, sino desde la caída de Al Andalus. La yihad es una obligación desde entonces (1492), cuando Granada cayó».
En el documento, AQIM aprovecha para «recordar a los musulmanes en general y en particular al pueblo de Marruecos, el cual tiene su historia estrechamente vinculada a Al Andalus, la hipótesis de la yihad y cómo cada musulmán debe luchar por Dios hasta restaurar cada pedazo de la tierra islámica usurpada».
La creación del Instituto tendrá consecuencias inmediatas en la amenaza terrorista que se cierne sobre España. Manuel R. Torres, profesor de la Universidad Pablo de Olavide de Sevilla experto en terrorismo islamista y autor de El eco del terror, un estudio en profundidad de la propaganda yihadista, asegura que el anuncio supone «un impulso de la estrategia comunicativa de AQIM, que hasta ahora estaba menos desarrollada que su capacidad logística u operativa». «El nuevo Instituto, que con la inclusión de Al Andalus en su nombre da una idea del simbolismo que tiene España para el yihadismo, multiplicará la aparición de comunicados sobre intereses españoles. Es perfectamente posible que comiencen a aparecer vídeos monográficos de Al Qaeda instigando atentados contra España».
El comunicado presenta también el logotipo del nuevo brazo de AQIM, que desde ahora servirá de certificado de todos las comunicaciones del grupo terrorista.

hace unos días que este grupo terrorista secuestró a 3 cooperantes españoles que trabajaban en Mauritania. No es por nada pero esto me huele a ejecución.
