Aquí lo dudan. El director de Charlie Hebdo ha sido absuelto pero la sentencia insiste en que el Islam está por encima de la crítica:
Considering that one of the drawings— the prophet Mohamed with a bomb in his turban—was in fact offensive to Muslims in general, their faith, their dignity, the court acquitted Val on the grounds that the drawings were published in the context of a legitimate public debate stimulated by the violence provoked by previous publication in the Jyllands Posten. Interviewed outside the courtroom, a self-satisfied Maître Francis Szpiner—Jacques Chirac’s personal lawyer dispatched to represent the Paris Mosque in this affair, — interpreted the judgment as a warning that editors will be expected to show consideration for the beliefs and feelings of Muslims who were, effectively, offended by the cartoons.
Es decir, Charlie Hebdo ganó este juicio, pero se sienta un nefasto precedente.
